Ukraine equips Humvees with bolt‑on remote‑control kits linked via Starlink
Ukrainian defence contractor Drone Fight Group has supplied three Humvees fitted with its Kaban remote‑control system, turning the standard tactical vehicle into a satellite‑connected, driverless platform for the Ukrainian army.
The Kaban kit is designed to attach to the vehicle without any structural alterations, bolting onto existing mounting points. This approach lets crews quickly switch between conventional manual operation and remote control, preserving the vehicle's original functionality while adding a new mode of use.
Control of the modified Humvees is routed through SpaceX's Starlink broadband network, which provides low‑latency, high‑bandwidth connectivity across the battlefield. Operators can remain safely behind the lines while steering the vehicle in real time, a capability that relies on the robust satellite link to transmit commands and receive video feedback.
The delivery reflects a broader trend in Ukraine's war effort, where commercial technologies are being adapted for combat.
