X rolls out faster web app in phased launch, promises smoother experience for users

X announced that its web application has been rebuilt to run markedly faster, beginning a staged rollout that targets signed‑in users one country at a time.

The company said the incremental deployment allows engineers to monitor performance in real‑world conditions, address regional network quirks, and ensure stability before expanding the upgrade worldwide.

Principal engineer Yagiz Nizipli explained in a recent blog post that the new build reduces the time required to open a profile on a slow connection, a scenario that many users have reported as frustrating in the past.

Speed has been a recurring point of criticism for the platform, especially on mobile browsers and in markets where bandwidth is limited. Earlier attempts to improve load times focused on server‑side caching and image optimization, but users still experienced noticeable lag during peak periods.

By accelerating page rendering, X hopes to boost user engagement and make the experience more attractive to advertisers who rely on quick interactions to drive click‑through rates. Early testers have reported smoother scrolling and faster content refreshes, though the company cautioned that results may vary by device and connection quality.

The rollout will continue over the coming weeks, with the company saying it will broaden availability once performance metrics meet internal thresholds. Observers will be watching to see whether the speed gains translate into higher activity levels and whether the phased approach becomes a model for future feature deployments.
