JLR Announces 4,000 Redundancies Amid Market Pressures and EV Shift

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) confirmed it will eliminate roughly 4,000 positions, representing about 10% of its global workforce, as part of a restructuring plan aimed at stabilising the business amid intensifying competition and a costly transition to electric vehicles.

The British automaker has been grappling with a confluence of challenges: a surge of Chinese manufacturers offering lower‑priced models, higher tariffs imposed by the United States on certain imports, and the capital‑intensive rollout of battery‑electric and plug‑in hybrid lines.
