Eric Wu, the entrepreneur who grew Opendoor into a leading online real‑estate platform before departing in 2022, has announced that his latest venture, NavigateAI, has emerged from stealth mode to address the persistent labor shortage plaguing the construction industry.

NavigateAI, which entered stealth in May, is developing artificial‑intelligence‑driven copilots that deliver hands‑free, real‑time instructions to on‑site workers. The system is designed to run on standard smartphones and on augmented‑reality glasses supplied by Meta, allowing laborers to receive visual and auditory cues without interrupting their workflow.

The company’s technology aims to bridge the gap between skilled expertise and the dwindling pool of available construction labor. By translating complex building procedures into step‑by‑step guidance, the AI copilots could help less‑experienced crews complete tasks more safely and efficiently, potentially reducing the need for highly specialized personnel on every job site.
