In the recent study, scientists conducted systematic watches of several chimp communities near the Niokolo‑Koba region. They recorded multiple instances in which an adult approached a juvenile, presented a pre‑shaped twig, and guided the youngster's hands as it was inserted into a termite nest. The juveniles subsequently used the provided implements to extract insects, often replicating the technique without further adult input.
