Analogue Unveils Upgraded Mega Sg+ and Super Nt+ for Modern 16‑Bit Gaming

Analogue has announced refreshed versions of its 16‑bit retro consoles, the Mega Sg+ and Super Nt+, bringing the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo experience to contemporary televisions.

Both machines preserve full compatibility with original cartridges, while swapping the classic analog boards for FPGA‑based hardware that mimics the timing of the source consoles and delivers a clean HDMI signal.

The “plus” designation reflects several technical upgrades, including video scaling that can output up to 4K resolution and a revamped audio path that offers higher‑fidelity digital‑to‑analog conversion.

Housed in Analogue’s signature aluminum enclosure, the new units feature a reworked interior layout, larger power supplies, updated controller ports and optional accessories such as Bluetooth adapters for wireless play.

The launch follows a growing market for premium retro hardware that lets collectors enjoy authentic cartridge titles without the constraints of CRT displays, a niche where Analogue has built a strong reputation.

Industry observers expect the announcement to renew interest in legacy game libraries and could encourage competing manufacturers to release similar enhancements; the consoles are slated for release later this year, with pre‑orders already available on Analogue’s website.
